"I have much less pain & easier needle insertion in the areas with a thicker fat layer"

Brenda Goodrich
I have much less pain and easier needle insertion in the areas with a thicker fat layer (my buttocks). It is getting harder t use my arms. I don't like the autoject so my husband does my injections for me and rotate daily. I HATE doing it in my stomach. It's such tender skin there.

Copaxone: "The easiest is the stomache and the hips."

Sandee Lamoria I have sever pain when I do my legs and my doctor told me to just take them out of the rotation so I do. I have enought other sites to jab with out including them. The easiest is the stomache and the hips. I don't like doing the arms because of the brusing and scars fromt he injections but do go there once in a while. Don't use ice or heat but ... See Morealways makes sure the area is dry from alchohol because have done to soon couple of times and wow that was an eye opener. :) Good luck been diagnosed 6 years and used only copaxone.

"I was on Avonex for 12 years and always had my husband do it in my thigh.

Robyn MacKillop
I was on Avonex for 12 years and always had my husband do it in my thigh. I would lie on the floor and read a magazine out loud while he did the injection. Helped keep us both sane. If you find you have pain at the site, try icing it before the injection. Sometimes they hurt, sometimes they don't, but take two tylenol about half hour prior to the shot, ice up the area and go for it.

"iim so proud of myself-instead of using the betaseron auto injecter-i injected myself without it-its alot gentler!!"

Stan,
i know i havent written in a very long time and i apologize for that..ive had alot happen in my life andy for one..the "oh so suppotive one" dumped me again!!! this time was the last time it was on valentines day in a txt on my phone..i was a mess over it but im fine now...

i have some great news!! instead of using the auto injecter thingy with my betaseron i actually out of the blue decided to try to inject myself without it..ive never been able to do this..to just stab myself with the needle an see it go in..NO WAY!! BUT...I DID IT!!! i was tired of how the injecter was so rough when i do it myself

its alot gentler!!

ive done it 3 times my tummy twice..and today finally my thigh!!

im so proud of myself and had to scream it from the rooftops!

i hope all the angels are doing well..sweet wishes and prayers for everyone :-)

"...If you ice the area for 10 minutes prior to the shot it not only helps with the pain but also the bruising."

Renea Gillenwater-Siegl Some people with MS are prone to bruising..My mom bruises really bad from shots and anythig else. Just the slightest bump and she is black and blue.. I swear people thought she was abused ! But me I also have MS and dont bruise..Try googling MS and bruising.. I have also heard that if you ice the area for 10 minutes prior to the shot it not only helps with the pain but also the bruising

"I place the syringe in my armpit to warm it up first, cold shots really hurt"

"I do my shot tonight ugh! I'm trying to think what will numb my arm so I don't feel all that pain"

I do my shot tonight ugh lol

I'm trying to think what will numb my arm so I don't feel all that pain.

I'm a candy ass

shhhhhhhh haahahaha

Amanda Bacchiocchi
I am on Copaxone and i have to say that i place the syringe in my armpit to warm it up first, cold shots really hurt, but the needle is so small i really dont feel it. Started out with the Autojector and now do it myself with no problems. I was on Avonex and again had to head up the shot but i found with IM that heat really helped it to not hurt as much.

I found if you're able to pull your skin as tight as you can & go in quick, this will ease the pain somewhat. You can try icing your arm first to numb it, also

I used to give my shot in my thigh and being I used to be a phlebolomist. I found if you're able to pull your skin as tight as you can, and go in quick, this will ease the pain somewhat. You can try icing your arm first to numb it, also. Good Luck and I'd like to know how you made out with your shot. <<>>

I take Copaxone, but when I used ice it actually hurt more for me...

Plus a little ibuprofen. I still hate doing my shot.

I recommend you try prilocaine/lydocaine cream (you need an RX for it))

for tonight I would say ice but for the future I recommend you try prilocaine/lydocaine cream (you need an RX for it)). I don't do my arms tho - I do my leg. I wish you the very best luck with this! - Yvonne Decelis
